Lightweight
Run faster, run quieter, and leave the Killer chasing echoes.
Lightweight is a Survivor Perk that rewards agility and speed by reducing the noise generated while sprinting. In the high-stakes cat-and-mouse dynamic of The Entity's realm, this ability allows Survivors to escape danger with less auditory warning, making it a cornerstone for runners who rely on endurance rather than stealth alone. It represents the desperate need to move quickly without alerting the relentless Pursuer.

Lore & Background
In the twisted logic of The Realm, sound is often a death sentence. A heavy footstep can echo like a thunderclap, drawing the attention of entities that hunt by vibration and noise alone. Lightweight embodies the philosophy that survival sometimes requires becoming insubstantial, shedding the physical weight of fear to move with ghostly silence. It is not merely about speed; it is about the discipline to run without the telltale crunch of gravel or the slap of mud that usually betrays a fleeing victim.
In Their Own Story
The rain hammered against the rusted metal of the boiler room, but Elias didn't hear it. He only heard his own heart hammering against his ribs as he sprinted down the corridor. The heavy boots of the Killer were just around the corner, rhythmic and terrifyingly close. Usually, this run would have sounded like a drumline, announcing his location from fifty yards away. But tonight, something was different. As Elias pushed past his limits, his footsteps seemed to lose their weight. The floorboards didn't creak; the puddles barely rippled. He became a shadow in motion, slipping through the noise of the storm, leaving only silence behind as he vanished into the next room.
Reader's Guide
**Effect Description** While sprinting, your footstep audio cues are reduced by 50% (or similar significant reduction depending on game version), making it harder for the Killer to pinpoint your location via sound alone. This effect is active immediately upon starting a sprint. **Activation Conditions** The perk activates automatically whenever the Survivor enters a sprint state. No specific item consumption or action is required other than holding the sprint button. The reduction applies continuously as long as the sprint animation persists. **Counterplay Strategies** Killers can still track you visually through windows, doors, and by watching for the 'aura' of your movement if they are close enough. Sprinting near walls or in confined spaces may still generate audible echoes that bypass the reduction. Additionally, any action other than sprinting (vaulting, healing, repairing) will immediately return your footstep noise to normal levels. **Synergy Notes** This perk pairs exceptionally well with 'Left Behind' or 'Sprint Burst' for high-mobility builds. It complements perks that rely on map knowledge and positioning, allowing you to reposition without alerting the Killer until it is too late. When combined with 'Adrenaline', it ensures your final escape attempts are as silent as possible.

- The perk is a favorite among 'Runner' archetypes who prioritize dodging and kiting over stealth or healing roles.
- Even with Lightweight active, the Survivor's aura can still be revealed if they are near a Generator that has been recently sabotaged by certain Killer abilities.
